The Director, Commercial Affairs – Original Content, within the Programming, Acquisitions and Original Content division, will be responsible for defining the structure, negotiation strategy and relationship management for ESPN`s original content portfolio. in particular in connection with the development, production, licensing and acquisition of the award-winning series ESPN 30 for 30, ESPN Films and ESPN + Originals. This position will also lead the business operations team responsible for the original content. The position reports to the Senior Director, Commercial Affairs – Original Content. Walt Disney Television`s new alternative studio is seeking an executive to join the commercial affairs division as vice president to support unwritten programming for Disney networks and platforms such as ABC, Hulu, Nat Geo, Disney+ and others. This executive will negotiate agreements related to the development and production of television projects, including agreements with live talent (e.g. e.g., producers, directors, on-air talent, etc.), full-term and rights agreements, and oversee commercial matters related to pilots, series and specials. This role supports the development and production of our company with a focus on drafting and negotiating contracts.

The Executive Director of ABC News Business Affairs is an experienced negotiator who has an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep understanding of the culture and drivers of the news media, broadcasting and entertainment industries. This person is a professional who is knowledgeable about developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external colleagues and stakeholders in order to advance the company`s goals. This person manages on-air and off-air talent and production matters for network news and trials. They advise network executives on agreement structures and negotiate personal employment contracts with ABC News production representatives and on-air talent. The Senior Associate Counsel (“APC”) will provide legal advice and support to DMED`s advertising sales team, with a primary focus on addressable distribution activities for various Disney brands, including Hulu, ABC, ESPN, FX, Nat Geo and Freeform. In particular, APC will draft agreements relating to data collection and use, research and analysis, distribution of advertising inventory on platforms not controlled by Disney, advertising technology, addressable and data-driven linear services, programmatic advertising, insertion orders, framework terms with advertisers and agencies, integrated marketing, branded and personalized content, influencer marketing and social media platforms; and negotiate.
The CPA will also conduct reviews of advertising content for compliance issues prior to publication.
